During this deeply restorative time for relaxation and healing, our expert practitioner will gently stimulate specific points on the body using fine, stainless steel, single-use needles, acupressure, or heat therapy (moxibustion). Additional therapies such as Asian Bodywork (Shiatsu, Tuina, Sotai (Japanese-style Neuromuscular Re-education), Guasha, or cupping), Herbal prescriptions, and customized Nutritional recommendations, may be included or added to a session when indicated.

Sara found Chinese Medicine while seeking a way to combine her passion for nature with the skillful precision honed through her creative arts skills. Sara brings a creative, nature-informed approach to supporting your body’s natural ability to heal itself. As a provider, she brings a combination of these unique strategies, her excellent training and mentorship, and an inherent gentleness and compassion into each treatment.

Since 2010, Sara has been offering Chinese Medicine services for the Kansas City community, operating in multi-disciplinary settings as well as private practice. Sara’s sensitivity to the energetic system has been cultivated through her studies of Qi Gong, including a one-month intensive training in China from jinjing gong lineage holder Master Wang Qingyu. Her scholarship in Classical Chinese Medicine has been supported through world renowned teachers such as Heiner Fruehauf, Arnaud Versylus, and Lonny Jarrett.


Sara pursued her 4-year medical training at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland Oregon, receiving a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is designated as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in Kansas and Missouri.

Additionally, Sara has studied ecology and life sciences, earning a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas. She is a Master Beekeeper, has trained in metalsmithing and jewelry making, and is a percussionist and banjist.
